After a long break - another personal project focused on recreating the iconic 1980s TRC-214 walkie-talkie, heavily inspired by the nostalgic, gritty atmosphere of "Stranger Things". My main goal for this asset was to push the boundaries of PBR texturing realism on a practical, game-ready budget (lp/mp).
I used a standard pipeline: low/mid-poly optimization with weighted normals and custom bevels and some details baked from a high-poly source. Both baking and texturing were handled entirely within Substance Painter.
For presentation purposes, I used 4K textures to showcase the extreme close-up micro-details. However, the asset is fully optimized for a standard 2K in-game budget. More renders soon!
